How is fantasy football Week 9 in 2011 looking for you? Week 9 fantasy football rankings could be putting your team in the playoff hunt, or you are already sinking like a stone. However, don’t fret – if your team is a mess, you still have some time to make a trade or two, troll the waiver wire, and try to find some football players who could help you get to a fantasy football championship. Or if you are in a fantasy football league that drafts a new team, whether for free or for a pay league, you could either have been a big winner – or a big loser – this week.
So let’s get started at talking about what happened in Week 9 fantasy football, and either wiping away the tears, or jumping for joy, over how your team performed. How did your fantasy football team do?
In fantasy football Week 9, San Diego Chargers star quarterback Philip Rivers threw for 385 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions as the Chargers lost to the Green Packers in a 45-38 shootout. Chargers WR Vincent Jackson had seven catches for 141 yards and three TDs. Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers threw for 247 yards and four TDs. Both of these elite quarterbacks are having great Week 9 fantasy football numbers this week.
Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer threw for 332 yards with three TDs and three INTs in a loss to the Denver Broncos in fantasy football Week 9. The Broncos’ Willis McGahee had 163 yards rushing and two TDs. Denver quarterback Tim Tebow rushed for 117 yards, almost as many as he got through the air (121, on 10 of 21). Tebow is continuing to be something to talk about, ever since his NFL debut.
The Dallas Cowboys’ DeMarco Murray rushed for 139 yards against the Seattle Seahawks. The Cowboys’ Miles Austin left the game with a hamstring injury and could miss some time. Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch rushed for 139 yards and one TD.
During fantasy football Week 9, the New England Patriots’ Wes Welker had nine catches for 136 yards in a loss to the New York Giants. The Giants memorably beat the undefeated Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, and in the rematch, Eli Manning triumphed over Tom Brady again.
The Atlanta Falcons’ Julio Jones had three catches for 131 yards and two TDs in a win over the Indianapolis Colts in fantasy football Week 9.
So what does it all mean? Fantasy football Week 9 means that if you had signed up for a one-week fantasy league, you could have something to cheer about, if you had some of this week’s stars, or something to frown about, if you didn’t. Week 9 fantasy football rankings, of course, are decided by these numbers, so if you are in a season-long fantasy football league, you may still need to tweak your team if you want to make the playoffs. So check those waiver wires, make some trade offers, and figure out how you can fix your team, if need be.
